Something unseen is close by, especially at night. Michael holds on dearly to the familiar with references to his family during internal conversations.
A Day In The Life makes one think about what they might do if they awoke alone in a familiar place, like their home. The character development of Michael is superb, with his emotional upheaval, determination, tenacity, and love relatable. When pushed to the very end of his senses, he makes a choice that many people might question.
The audio rendition by David Piper was outstanding. He delivers consistent, intense emotion and brings Michael’s internal torment to life. There were no issues with the audiobook quality other than it ended perfectly but too soon.
