(Joy Wagner Mysteries Book 1)

***** Mysterious Songs take flight —————– Review by Rox Burkey

Uncertain, Florida is an unexpected destination for Joy Wagner went her motorcycle breaks down. A generous shopkeeper, Michael, provides a room and board in exchange for work in the General Store. Joy’s outgoing, unassuming personality highlight her ability to never meet a stranger. While her bike is under repair, she meets Diablo, a toucan, and Merrick, a ghost who believes he got murdered and didn’t die of a nicotine overdose. Joy’s interest is piqued, and she uses everything at her disposal to help find out the truth about Merrick’s death.

Joy enjoys good food, and she makes friends with the owner of the local pizza parlor. Joy asks questions to learn who is responsible for Merrick’s demise and charms her way into many of the locals she meets. Things get interesting when Diablo assists in her investigation as Joy questions all the townsfolk who loved Merrick. The only one at odds with the man is Merrick’s son Michael, which is difficult to understand. You’ll find The Eighth Dead Sin is Pizza, a cozy ghost mystery filled with twists and turns. One of Joy’s skills is discerning the clues of the Jimmy Buffett songs that randomly play in her head. The story’s pace is fast, with fun dialogue and interesting character interactions accompanying the vivid description. Delighted to learn books 2 and 3 of the Joy Wagner series are available now.
