***** Emotional Journey —- Review by Rox Burkey
Pat Garcia delivers an emotionally charged fictional story of a woman’s journey to survive an unwarranted terror. The vivid character development of Janie B and Paola gets teased out with each conversation and from every interaction. The result is realistic three-dimensional people with hearts and souls exposed to the readers.
The descriptions pull at all the senses, from tingling fingers starving for blood, howling, the beauty of the lake, and heartbeats. Living through the horrific can be a curse or a blessing. In this case, the reader hopes that patience and time can win.
I highly recommend this powerful short story with the beautiful red dress on the cover. The pages turn almost too fast to reach the unexpected end. Well done, Ms. Garcia.
I truly enjoy the way Pat creates her compelling stories filled with passion for the topic and relatable characters. Sometimes sad, often thought provoking, and always a reading treat.
