***** Some Vacation —– Review by Rox Burkey
In ‘Murder, She Glamped,’ Mamie West finds herself in a precarious situation when she takes on the role of temporary manager at Hayden’s Resort Campground in Magnolia Bluff. What starts as an exciting month-long vacation with her vintage camper and dog, Stella, quickly spirals into a nightmare as a body gets discovered in one of the RVs. During the police work to uncover the identity of a murderer, Mamie becomes embroiled in a web of suspense.
April Coker crafts a compelling narrative filled with unexpected twists, dynamic characters, and a richly described setting that draws readers into the story. Mamie faces not only the threat of a serial killer targeting single women camping alone but also the challenges that come with managing the chaos of a motorcycle rally. Readers will love how she cares for the lost hedgehog in between all the excitement.
With the help of Officer Nick Vandegan, her new boyfriend, Mamie relies on her instincts and faith to navigate the dangerous landscape of murder and mystery. The story delivers a delightful balance of humor and heart-pounding suspense, with moments of warmth and romance woven throughout the pages.
April Coker’s ability to keep the plot moving at a breakneck pace, combined with her knack for creating red herrings and intricate connections between characters, makes ‘Murder, She Glamped’ a must-have, enthralling cozy mystery that captivates as it entertains. Readers will find it perfect as a stand-alone mystery. Book 34 of the Magnolia Bluff Crime Chronicles is a winner. Don’t miss any of the other exciting stories in the series. Perfect summer reading.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
April Nunn Coker began writing at the age of 10, but it was many years until she saw her dream of having a book published come true. She spent 30 years in public schools as a teacher and administrator while raising her two children along with her husband and cheerleader Jimmy, whom she recently lost to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Her first book, a tongue-in-cheek guide to saving money at Christmas, was written in response to an especially hectic holiday season where she exhausted herself spending and doing way too much. Her next three books, inspired by her husband’s life as a zookeeper, are romantic suspense novels centered around the lives of several zookeepers who find themselves in danger from animals and people. Soon to be released is a companion children’s book based upon one of the characters in the novels.
April is also a freelance writer who has written articles for professional education journals, teacher magazines, and a society magazine. This busy lady resides in East Texas with her Boston Terrier, Stella, and spends her time writing, glamping, traveling, tutoring, thrift shopping, and enjoying time with her three grandchildren.
