GOOD LUCK! READ ON!

The young boy that showed up outside Jonah’s hut was no ordinary boy. In fact, he was anything but ordinary.

As Jonah got to know more about Titus, he discovered many things, one of them being that even though the boy appeared to be around the age of twelve, in truth, he may have been over a hundred. The boy possessed magic. And Jonah craved it.

Here is the scene from their first meeting:

Jonah had difficulty finding his voice but managed a weak, “Hello.”

The boy simply nodded.

“Who are you? Where did you come from?” Jonah fired the questions. “How did you get here? Are you from the mainland?” Jonah quickly deducted this was no ordinary boy. His eyes glowed with luminescent greenlight and webbing grew between his long fingers.

The boy turned and ran away.

Jonah gave chase, easily overtaking him andpulling the boy to the ground, face down. He turned him over. “I demand some answers. Did the judge send you?”

The boy shook his head. “I didn’t know you were here, mister.”

“You’ve got some explaining to do, kid.” Jonah helped him to his feet, practically dragging him back toward his camp. The boy cried out in protest as Jonah kept an iron grip on his arm.

 “Ouch! You’re hurting me!”

“If I let go, you better not run. I promise I can hurt you more than you can imagine.” He loosened his grip but maintained contact with the boy.

Reaching his tiny shelter, Jonah pushed the boy inside, landing him on his back. When he crawled in next to him, suddenly, he couldn’t find enough air to fill his lungs.

What was it with this kid? He wasn’t normal.

Jonah’s curiosity drove him to question the boy further.

“What’s wrong with your eyes and hands?” Jonah prodded.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Who are you?” Jonah continued, determined to get the answers he sought.

The visitor lifted his chin. “I am Titus, son of Drake and Jade.”

We discover much later in the story that Drake is a powerful Wizard and Jade possesses her own kind of magic.

BOOK BLURB:

Fantasy meets reality when a young man is forced to choose his punishment for crimes committed. Jonah must decide between imprisonment in a concrete box beneath the earth or be exiled to a deserted, barren island. He chooses the island, but nothing can prepare him for the deadly creatures, and poisonous plants at every turn. Then there’s the maddening isolation that drives him to the brink of insanity. There is only one way off this island and it’s more difficult than anything he’s ever imagined. It’s much easier to face mortal danger than the demons within. Will Jonah find redemption, or another unexpected offer?

AUTHOR BIO:

Jan Sikes openly admits that she never set out in life to be an author. But she had a story to tell. Not just any story, but a true story that rivals any fiction creation. You simply can’t make this stuff up. It all happened. She chose to create fictitious characters to tell the story through, and they bring the intricately woven tale to life in an entertaining way.

She released a series of music CDs to accompany the four biographical fiction books and then published a book of poetry and art to bring the story full circle.

And now that the story is told, this author can’t find a way to put down the pen. She continues to write fiction and has published many short stories with a series of novels waiting in the wings. She is a member of Authors Marketing Guild, The Writer’s League of Texas, the RAVE REVIEWS BOOK CLUB (RRBC), the RAVE WRITER’S INT’L SOCIETY OF AUTHOR (RWISA), sits on the RWISA Executive Council and hosts a monthly RAVE WAVES blog talk radio show, ASPIRE TO INSPIRE.
