***Time-Travel and Magical Paranormal Romance Review by Rox Burkey
Author Flossie Benton Rogers has a fabulous Wytchfae universe. This allows each story to use unique storylines and characters to enable readers to plunge into any of these stories. The time travel and multi-dimensional aspects are exciting and help the tale flow from beginning to end.
Garnet McAnna is a committed demon tracker seeking revenge. She is prepared for righting wrongs, though tracking alone has serious risks. Hawk is clearly a strong character in size and overall personality. I liked his interaction with the ogre because it helped cement the picture of him in my mind.
“Where, ogre?”
“He’ll kill me if I blab.”
“What do you think I’ll do if you don’t?”
A croaking sound burped out of the bulky throat. “He didn’t say where he was goin’—dontcha think I’d tell ya with you standin’ there lookin’ for a chance to incinerate me?”
Hawk released his hold on the ogre, who now appeared more willing to cooperate. Some of his anger dissipated. In a stern voice he said, “My time is short, and you’re right. I’d just as soon send you to hell as look at you. I seriously doubt Borros didn’t have a Plan B in place in the event of trouble.”
The ogre’s eyes shifted off to the side.
“Didn’t he, Harry?”
The ogre flinched and Hawk swore a shadow crossed his broad face.
“Your name’s Harry, right?”
“Boss calls me that, but it’s not my name. Name’s Jove.”
“Whatever. Jove suits you better…”
This is the second book in the series that I have read, yet I did not feel I missed anything. I found the world-building fascinating. Author Rogers artfully leveraged her knowledge of chakras elements to add flavor to the Wytchfae universe. A mixture of soft romance and unexpected time travel that lovers of paranormal romance will enjoy, definitely for the adult crowd.
