***** A twist of fate —– by Rox Burkey
Author Pat Garcia masterfully depicts a character many readers will relate to. Tessie, a 64-year-old lady mourns the loss of close girlfriends. Never married, she reviews her life dwelling on her lack of family. This unexpected read will resonate with those who feel life has passed them by. I delighted in her foreshadowing in the excerpt below.
Tessie had a strange dream. She saw herself in a big house with kids. Kids and a big house? Crazy, she thought. But she never thought she would end up in a publishing house working as an editorial assistant, either.
Love surprisingly opens its door. Tessie’s lack of experience and confidence has her questioning the possibilities for an unimagined reality. An honest story from the heart that readers will enjoy and likely refer to in contemplative moments. A concise delight I can recommend. Thank you, Pat Garcia for your story and reminding me of the Beatles.
